Henry Precht’s column “We’re Misdirected in Our Rush to Judgment Against Iran” (Op-Ed Page, May 18) is admirable and timely. It shows Precht’s deep understanding of the conflict and the parties involved.
We blindly blame Iran for every act of terrorism. There is no reason for Iran to lay mines, but Iran’s enemies do have reasons. They get so much out of our retaliation.
I agree with Precht that the Ayatollah Khomeini regime is much more pragmatic and is pursuing national interest more than Islamic ideology.
We must improve our relations with Iran. It is about time to recognize indigenous revolution of Iran.
