BAGHDAD, Iraq — The Iraqi government said an Iranian plane tried to bomb President Saddam Hussein’s family home north of Baghdad early today but missed.
No one was injured, a government statement said. It did not say whether Hussein or any of his family were at the house in Ouja village near the town of Tikrit, 125 miles north of the capital, during the raid. Anti-aircraft fire drove off the plane after it dropped its bomb load on a nearby area, the statement said.
