Matt Scoggin scored a perfect 10 on his fifth dive and went on to win the 10-meter platform competition, upsetting Olympic double gold medalist Greg Louganis in a meet at Annapolis, Md.
Scoggin, from Great Falls, Va., scored 1,262 points, well ahead of second-place finisher Mike Wantuck. Louganis finished fourth after missing a 3 1/2 somersault in the pike position late in the competition. Scott Donie was third.
Wendy Williams, the reigning indoor national champion, won the women’s 10-meter title by a wide margin over Michele Mitchell.
