The deaf-mute “mystery boy” found wandering the streets of Juarez, Mexico, has been tentatively identified as a Mexican child reported missing eight months ago by his mother, the FBI said. FBI agent Terry Kincaid in El Paso said the 7- or 8-year-old boy, known by child relief workers in neighboring Ciudad Juarez as “Sabat,” apparently is not an American child as earlier believed, but a missing child from the Mexican town of Tampico. Kincaid said Mexican officials with the Department of Integrated Families in Tampico now say Sabat’s description matches photos of a boy treated at their center for children about a year ago.
