Kookaburra III of Australia and Bengal III of Japan won a pair of decisive match races at Lulea, Sweden, and advanced to the final of the World 12-meter Yachting Championships.

Kookaburra III finished the round-robin semifinals with a 7-0 record, and Bengal III, New Sweden and Dennis Conner’s Nordstjernan each had five points in the semifinal standings.
