Car Bomb Kills 7 in Kabul

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — A vehicle packed with explosives blew up in a busy market near Communist Party headquarters in the Afghan capital of Kabul today, and media reports said up to seven people were killed and 16 injured.
Radio Kabul said the blast rocked Kabul’s central market as people were returning from early morning prayers. The Soviet press agency Tass said it demolished 16 stores and burned five cars. Also today, Radio Kabul said rockets blasted a residential section of the capital and killed seven people and injured 19.
