The fate of the Batiquitos Institute and Festival still hangs in the balance according to board president Ted Frye. Frye confirmed Wednesday afternoon that tonight’s program by the Fine Arts Quartet in La Jolla’s Sherwood Hall will take place as scheduled. He could not guarantee, however, that Saturday’s concert at the Sammis Pavilion with pianist Gary Graffman and Russian conductor Leonid Grin will occur. The board, which has been meeting several times a day since last weekend’s cash-flow crisis, was slated to meet again Wednesday night to try to solve its money problems.
