Bullets Won’t Keep Moses Malone; Suns Lose Davis to Nuggets

Moses Malone, who played the last two seasons with the Washington Bullets, will not be offered a multiyear contract, owner Abe Pollin said Wednesday.
“We feel (Malone) does not fit in with a young, developing team, but with a team at its peak,” said Pollin in a prepared statement from Landover, Md.
Malone, a 10-time National Basketball Assn. all-star, was quoted by the Atlanta Constitution as saying that his first choice would be to re-sign with the Bullets but that he likes the attitude of the Atlanta Hawks, who are reportedly interested in signing him.
The Washington Post said that the Hawks have offered Malone a three-year deal worth about $6 million.
