Will the producers of “Trivial Pursuit,” a kid game show in pre-production based on the popular board game, turn it into another “Double Dare,” with contestants sliding through goop, getting plastered with raw eggs and otherwise being humiliated? Sounds like a strong possibility, considering that “Trivial Pursuit” developer Dee La Duke was one of the co-developers of Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare.”
Producer Michael Hirsh concedes that participants, aged 6 to 18, will have to perform certain “activities” as well as prove their trivial knowledge . . . but “This is not a copycat show. What I will say is that it will bring out the ‘pursuit’ in ‘Trivial Pursuit.’ ” Nelvana Productions is searching for a “fresh-faced” host.
