I couldn’t agree more with Donna Caffrey’s response (Viewers’ Views, June 19) to Channel 11’s airing of “The Clairvoyant.” The scene which showed a woman being strapped and raped was terrible. Why can’t the industry portray women as intelligent and sexy? Instead they are usually victims of violence and sexual exploitation. In our society where the media can have a widespread influence on people, networks and local stations must use more discretion when airing such films. Let them start by showing more respect for women, and let them create positive role models for us as well as our children.
