CMK Corp., Japan’s largest manufacturer of printed circuit boards, signed an agreement to buy 15 acres on Otay Mesa from Koll Co. and to build a 130,000-square-foot plant employing about 200. The facility is scheduled to open next year, said Coldwell Banker brokers Joe and Mike Smith, who handled the deal.
The Otay Mesa plant will be the first U.S. facility for CMK, which reported about $320 million in sales for its fiscal year ended July, 1987. CMK specializes in circuit boards for consumer electronics companies. CMK is expected to supply many of the Japanese firms now operating assembly plants in Tijuana.
