Crosswalk Controversy

So the Los Angeles Traffic Planners want to phase out crosswalks, because cars hit pedestrians anyway. They might as well eliminate stop signs, because cars seldom come to a complete stop. As long as we are doing away with such safety measures, why put signals on automobiles anymore? Not many drivers seem to use them.
