Warner Communications Inc. net income rose 34% to $127.6 million in its second quarter, compared to the year-ago period. The New York-based entertainment conglomerate attributed its performance to increased earnings in its film unit, higher income in its recorded music division and a dramatic increase in the demand for movies and records outside the United States.
