Thomas W. Field Jr., 54, president and chief executive of McKesson Corp., San Francisco, has been named chairman. He succeeds Neil E. Harlan, 67, who will continue as a director. Two executive vice presidents, Alan Seelenfreund, 51, and Rex R. Malson, 56, were elected directors. Seelenfreund is chief financial officer and Malson is executive vice president-operations. Malcolm Toon, former U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union, and Roy B. Miner, retired president of McKesson Drug & Health Care Group, both retired as directors. McKesson distributes pharmaceuticals and non-durable consumer goods.
