UAL Corp. reported second-quarter earnings to $124.2 million, a 69% increase over the year-ago quarter. Revenue for the Chicago-based parent of United Airlines rose to $2.34 billion from $2.1 billion. “These results make it clear that United has returned to its core business of running an airline and doing so with the talent of 63,000 committed employees,” the company said.
