Local News in Brief : Manslaughter Case Plea

A 24-year-old man charged in the deaths of three people who inhaled toxic fumes at a clandestine drug manufacturing laboratory in Van Nuys pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of manufacturing methamphetamine, authorities said.
As part of a plea bargain Wednesday with prosecutors, Russell Blackwood of the San Diego County community of Vista will receive a sentence of five years in state prison, Deputy Dist. Atty. Robert Schirm said. He is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 19 by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Candace Cooper.
