One man was killed and another seriously injured early Sunday when they stepped into the path of a car on Bristol Street north of McFadden Avenue in Santa Ana, police reported.
The injured man, identified as Jose Oviendo Giron, residence unknown, was listed in serious condition at Western Medical Center.
Coroner’s investigators said the identity of the second man, who died at the scene, is unknown and issued an appeal for help. They described the man as in his early 20s, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 142 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red and black shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Officers said the driver of the car that struck the men was not cited, because it appeared that the pedestrians were at fault.
