WICHITA, Kan. — Steve Howe was hit hard in a National Baseball Congress World Series game Thursday, yielding 7 runs on 11 hits in 3 innings.
Howe, a relief pitcher for the Dodgers until he developed a drug problem, was pitching for the Madison, Wis., semipro team, which lost to Nogales, Ariz., 14-11.
