Olympic diving silver medalist Bruce Kimball had a blood-alcohol level of .20, twice the legal limit, when his car crashed into a group of teen-agers and killed two people, according to the Tampa Tribune.
The newspaper said a state crime laboratory officials told Hillsborough (Fla.) County authorities by telephone that Kimball’s blood-alcohol level was .20 immediately after the accident. Florida law presumes a person to be intoxicated with a reading of .10.
Prosecutors are awaiting written documentation of the test results before settling on formal charges against Kimball.
