A man believed to be one of several robbers responsible for the thefts of expensive Rolex wristwatches has pleaded innocent to 17 felony counts.
Earl A. Ford, 27, the so-called “Rolex Robber,” pleaded innocent at his arraignment in Municipal Court to nine counts of robbery, seven counts of grand theft and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
The charges stem from six holdups in Beverly Hills between Oct. 21, 1987, and July 23 in which a number of the expensive watches were stolen.
