Al Unser Jr. led all the way...

Al Unser Jr. led all the way to win the final event of the four-race International Race of Champions series and wrap up his second IROC title in three years at Watkins Glen, N.Y.

The victory brought the 26-year-old Indy-car driver the top series prize of $200,000, giving him a total of $211,900 and making him the all-time leading money-winner in IROC with $524,900.

NASCAR driver Geoff Bodine, who was leading Unser by two points, lost his bid for a second straight IROC title with two off-course excursions. The second spin sent Bodine’s car skidding hard into a steel guardrail on lap 18. He escaped injury, but the car was too damaged to continue.
