Moses Malone, a three-time NBA most valuable player, will sign a contract with the Atlanta Hawks today, according to reports from a Houston television station and The Atlanta Constitution.
Malone (6 feet 10 inches, 255 pounds), a former All-Star center for Houston and Philadelphia, played the past two seasons at Washington before he became an unrestricted free agent.
Malone, 33, led the NBA in rebounding six times, most recently in 1985.
