Francis R. Logan, the head of the 100-lawyer banking department at the New York law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, is moving to the firm’s new Los Angeles office.
The firm said the move reflects the growing significance of Los Angeles as a major international financial center and gateway to the Pacific Rim.
Milbank opened its Los Angeles office last year and has 10 partners and 30 associates here.
Logan will continue to focus on representing banks. He has been the firm’s lead partner in representing major U.S. and foreign banks in recent years, including Chase Manhattan, Security Pacific and Mitsui.
Logan received his law degree from Harvard University in 1955 and is a former Rhodes Scholar and graduate of the University of Chicago.
