DeFisher Umpires Junior World Series

Roy DeFisher this week became the first Ventura County resident to umpire in a Little League World Series tournament.
DeFisher, who has served as a volunteer for 12 years with Montalvo Little League, is one of 12 umpires worldwide chosen to work the Junior League (13-year-olds) World Series in Taylor, Mich. The series began Monday and ends Friday.
In addition to local experience, DeFisher worked Western regional tournaments the past three seasons and is a member of the Channel Coast Officials Assn.
