Kent Neil has resigned as Fountain Valley High School’s baseball coach to accept a similar position at Diamond Bar, Evie Belgen, the school’s public information officer, said Friday.
Neil was been a walk-on coach at Fountain Valley for one season and also served as a substitute teacher for three years. He will be a full-time teacher at Diamond Bar.
“I needed a full-time position which gave me all the benefits which substituting did not,” Neil said in a release. “Fountain Valley gave me a coaching position and without that start I would not be going where I am now.”
The Barons were 12-13 last season.
