Sheriff’s deputies were investigating the death of a 15-month-old girl whom a baby-sitter said was found unconscious Friday afternoon in a bathtub at her Spring Valley home.
The victim was identified as Heather Forrest. A live-in baby-sitter was caring for her and two siblings at the time of her death, a San Diego County sheriff’s spokesman said.
The baby-sitter told authorities she was bathing the infant when she left her alone for three minutes to attend to another child, according to the sheriff’s spokesman. When the baby-sitter returned, at about 4 p.m., the child was not breathing, the baby-sitter told authorities.
The infant was later pronounced dead at Grossmont Hospital.
