A federal appeals court reinstated an antitrust lawsuit by Volvo and two of the world’s largest sports agencies against the Men’s International Professional Tennis Council, court papers disclosed.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed in part a lower court ruling last year that dismissed the lawsuit by Volvo North America Corp., International Merchandising Corp. and ProServ Inc.

The lawsuit accused the council’s former chairman, Philippe Chatrier, and its administrator, M. Marshall Happer III, of an alleged conspiracy to monopolize and retrain trade in the markets for the production of men’s professional tennis events.
