Synastry Races to Victory in $48,000 Feature at Del Mar

DEL MAR — Synastry, the 5-year-old son of Seattle Slew and Municipal Bond, took command in the stretch and went on to win the $48,000 feature race at Del Mar Friday by three-quarters of a length.
Reconnoitering, with Chris McCarron aboard, finished second, 1 1/2 lengths in front of Bit Of A Lark, under Fernando Toro.
Ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, Synastry covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15 2/5 and earned $26,400 for his second win in five appearances at Del Mar.
Owned by actor Albert Finney, Synastry paid $6, $4.20 and $3. Reconnoitering returned $6.40 and $4, while Bit Of A Lark paid $6.
