LAS VEGAS — Junior-welterweight Anthony Jones of Detroit upset Primo Ramos of Albuquerque, N.M., winning a split decision in their 10-round main event Friday night at Bally’s Hotel.
Jones’ quickness protected him from Ramos’ potent lefts and rights. Ramos did hurt Jones, who weighed 136 pounds, early in the seventh with a right to the hand.
Ramos, 137, ranked No. 7 by the World Boxing Assn. and the World Boxing Council and No. 8 by the International Boxing Federation, tired after the eighth round.
