CAMPAIGN ’88 : L.A. Chosen to Host Mid-October Debate

Los Angeles will be the site of the second debate between Republican presidential nominee George Bush and Democratic nominee Michael S. Dukakis, and it will take place Oct. 13 or 14, Dukakis campaign chairman Paul P. Brountas said Friday.
Brountas told reporters traveling with Dukakis that he and Bush campaign chairman James A. Baker III had decided on the city and the approximate date. A specific location has not been chosen.
Brountas said the League of Women Voters was the probable sponsor of the debate.
