Glendale Turns Turnovers Into 24-13 Victory

Glendale College recovered 7 of 10 fumbles, converting two for a touchdown and field goal, en route to a 24-13 nonconference victory over Pasadena City in the season opener for both teams Saturday night at Pasadena.
The Vaqueros, who never trailed, took a 7-0 lead on a seven-yard run by James Bledsoe in the second quarter.
After Gary Melnik kicked a 22-yard field goal before the half, Glendale stretched the lead to 17-3 in the third quarter on a 53-yard pass play from quarterback Keith Fitzgerald to Sean Hampton.
Doug Dragomer added a a six-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to complete the Glendale scoring.
Glendale compiled 287 yards in total offense, including 158 yards rushing.
