New Zealand challenger Michael Fay, defeated in his bid to win the America’s Cup on the water earlier this month, has written a letter to the New York State Supreme Court asking that a conference be scheduled for parties involved in his pending legal attempt to disqualify the successful U.S. defender.
Fay has said he will seek a forfeit of the America’s Cup from the San Diego Yacht Club because of its decision to send a 60-foot catamaran, skippered by Dennis Conner, against his 133-foot monohulled sloop.
Fay is seeking the pre-motion conference to establish a timetable for the filing of motions and a schedule of hearings.
