A woman was fatally wounded and a male companion suffered multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon during an apparent robbery attempt at the woman’s condominium near San Diego State University, police said.
Details of the crime remained sketchy late Wednesday. Neither victim was identified pending notification of the dead woman’s relatives.
The woman, who was shot in the head, was found tied up in the living room of her ransacked Collwood Boulevard condominium about 2 p.m., police said. She was rushed to Mercy Hospital, where she was declared dead, police said.
Her companion, who was shot in the head and upper body, was found next to the housing complex’s swimming pool, police said. He was in stable condition at UC San Diego Medical Center, police said.
Police were seeking three suspects who may have left the scene in an old Toyota Celica, dark blue and possibly with primer paint on a left rear panel, police said.
