Candidates for City Council and for the Rent Control Board are invited. Thirteen people are running for four vacant seats on the council, and three candidates are competing for two seats on the Rent Control Board.
A second forum is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 8 at the park, with candidates for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and the Santa Monica College Board of Trustees.
Six people are seeking to fill three seats on the school board, while voters will choose three new college trustees among five candidates.
