UAL Corp. said it will file a petition for reconsideration of the loss of its Seattle-Tokyo route to Texas Air Corp.’s Continental Airlines unit. The change of the route was announced Thursday. Chicago-based UAL said it strongly believes that its United Airlines should retain the route and that its petition will be based on foreign trade policy and customer service issues. Continental expects to start service on the route in early 1989, the carrier said from its Houston headquarters.
