Grant 16, Van Nuys 2--Behind the running of junior Shawn Booker, Grant (2-4, 1-3) had little trouble moving the ball between the 30-yard lines, but the Lancers needed 2 surprise plays from running back Marlowe Lewis to score their touchdowns.
On the first play of the second quarter, Lewis ran 34 yards for a touchdown on a fake punt. In the third quarter, Lewis threw a 24-yard scoring pass to Jon Paul Anderson on a halfback option. Lewis had 5 carries for 54 yards.
Booker rushed 23 times for 128 yards, his second 100-yard-plus game this season. The Lancers outgained Van Nuys (2-4, 1-3), 338 yards to 118, but were penalized 13 times for 146 yards.
