John Creager rode Harry Mito to a mild upset over favored Big Hitter in Thursday night’s 350-yard feature event at Los Alamitos Race Course.
Racing from the No. 5 post in a field of seven, Harry Mito broke on top and was never headed while racing to a half-length victory in 17.85 seconds. It was the first victory this year for the Texas-bred gelding, trained by Tom Gale. Harry Mito returned $9.80, $5.80 and $3.40.
Big Hitter, who broke from the rail post position under rider Kenny Hart, held off Dr Dolittle to take second by a nose.
