A coating of light snow in the higher elevations of the southern Sierra forced the closure of two east-west highways through the mountains for a time, Caltrans officials said. California 120, the Tioga Pass route linking Yosemite National Park to the Mono Lake region, was closed, as was California 108, the Sonora Pass route. Traffic continued on two other routes, including California 88.
