Drug Abuse

I’m not surprised that Bill Steigerwald panned KCET’s series on preventing preteen drug abuse, “Straight Up” (TV Review, Nov. 5).
One who believes, as Steigerwald does, that it’s possible for responsible adult drug users to exist is bound to take offense at “Straight Up’s” anti-drug message. I find Steigerwald’s comments irresponsible and regret that they were dignified by publication in The Times.
By the way, Noriega, the Medellin cartel and the killers of Enrique Camarena also believe that responsible adult drug users exist.
