The Washington Post is reported Tuesday that “Hill Street Blues” executive producer David Milch and former Post editor Christian Williams are developing a two-hour pilot for a possible ABC series set in a fictional Washington newspaper. According to the Post, Milch and Williams took meetings with ABC Entertainment president Brandon Stoddard two months ago and are now working like proverbial beavers to get a shooting script in shape for the series’ pilot. The working title of the series is “Capital News,” which Williams describes as a big ensemble show “with a huge newsroom” in the tradition of “Hill Street.”
