Driver Dies in Crash

An unidentified driver of a pickup truck was killed Monday when his vehicle slammed into a traffic light standard at El Camino Real and Fire Mountain Road in Oceanside, police said. The driver, who was headed south on El Camino Real, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 2 a.m. crash occurred near Eternal Hills Cemetery and the El Camino Country Club. Authorities said they did not know the identity of the driver.
