A firebomb thrown through a master bedroom’s window caused $7,000 in damage at a Dana Point home Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Fire Department said.
No arrests have been made, Kathleen Cha said Thursday.
Felix F. Schwedler said he and his wife, Jean, were entertaining a couple in their home in the 25000 block of Starboard Drive about 8:30 p.m. when they heard a crash and the sound of glass breaking. “There was a small explosion,” the retiree said.
Schwedler, 68, said he rushed upstairs and doused the “very hot and fast fire” with a fire extinguisher and a garden hose.
Schwedler gave investigators a suspect’s name but would not release it. “I’m just speculating,” he said.
Cha declined to confirm that there is a suspect. “No information will be available until (the investigation) is concluded,” she said.
