Cerritos Tops Cypress in Women’s Basketball

Lisa Pounds scored 15 points as Cerritos College defeated Cypress, 82-49, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Thursday at Cypress.

Vicky Silva, a sophomore forward, scored 25 and had 9 rebounds for Cypress (6-9). Becky Wayland, who has been averaging 24 points for Cypress, sprained her ankle in the first half and didn’t play again. She ended with 9 points.

Cerritos is 10-4.
