A fire in an unused kitchenette of Mission Bay Hospital was quickly extinguished and caused no injuries, but four patients were moved to safer quarters Saturday evening, authorities said.
The kitchenette on the third floor caught fire shortly after 7 p.m., said Helen Halliburton, a hospital spokeswoman.
Four patients were moved to the other end of the floor, but no patients were evacuated from the 150-bed hospital, Halliburton said.
The fire was contained within the kitchen and was extinguished by 7:45 p.m., a fire dispatcher said, adding that the blaze caused about $15,000 in damages.
