12 Nebraska Non-Starters Reportedly Suspended and Will Miss Orange Bowl

OMAHA, Neb. — Twelve Nebraska football players have been suspended and will not play in Monday night’s Orange Bowl game against Miami, but no starters are said to be involved, a television station reported Saturday night.
Two of the 12 players have been sent home to Nebraska, apparently for curfew violations, KETV of Omaha said.
Don Bryant, a school spokesman, told WOWT-TV that team officials were attending New Year’s Eve parties and could not be reached for comment. He confirmed that some players had been suspended but did not know how many, the station reported.
Bryant indicated that the suspended players may have been mainly redshirt team members.
