The world’s largest bank, Tokyo-based Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank Ltd., said it is selling its Chicago retail operations to First American Bank Corp., an Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based bank holding company, so it can focus on business banking. Terms were not disclosed. The deal includes assets of $35 million, including about 6,000 checking, savings and other accounts, and a retail loan portfolio of less than $5 million, the companies said in a joint statement.
