The revolvers of 10 San Francisco police officers reportedly have been checked by Walnut Creek detectives investigating the slaying last July of an off-duty San Francisco vice officer in the Contra Costa County community. San Francisco Police Chief Frank Jordan said he was told the weapons had been checked “merely to cover all the bases” and that to his knowledge “there is no policeman who is a suspect.” Lester Garnier, 30, was shot twice at close range as he sat in his car in a shopping center.
