Local News in Brief : Cypress : Motorcyclist Dies in Collision With Truck

A motorcyclist was killed Friday when he struck a pickup truck that had turned in front of him at an intersection, police said.
The victim, 28, whose identity was being withheld until relatives could be notified, was reported dead at the scene of the 6:15 p.m. accident on Moody Street at Crescent Avenue, Police Sgt. Ron Dickson said.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, Dickson said.
The driver of the pickup truck, DeWayne Leon Jackson, 29, of Artesia, was taken into police custody and was being questioned late Friday, Dickson said.
The accident occurred when the motorcyclist, who was southbound on Moody Street, collided with Jackson’s pickup truck as Jackson tried to turn west from the northbound traffic lanes of Moody onto Crescent, Dickson said.
