Leonhard Stock, who hadn’t won a downhill race since the 1980 Winter Olympics, led the first 1-2-3 Austrian sweep of a World Cup downhill in 20 years at Laax, Switzerland.
Stock, 30, completed the 3,285-meter course in 1 minute 51.19 seconds for his first World Cup victory in 13 seasons. Peter Wirnsberger was second in 1:51.67, and Helmut Hoeflehner was third, 0.62 seconds behind.
