Hart High Coach Pam Walker starts 4 players who stand 6-foot or taller, so it could easily be assumed that most of the Indians’ points are notched in the paint. However, their offensive strategy in a Foothill League opener Friday at Alhambra was different.
Hart (12-2 overall) scored most of its points on fast breaks and thrashed the Moors, 78-36, at Alhambra.
Sara Wilson, a 6-3 preseason All-American, scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Teammate Nikki Bodowy also had 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Freshman Anjanette Dionne had 14 points and 5 steals.
In another Southern Section game:
Thousand Oaks 70, Simi Valley 48--Freshman Michelle Palmisano scored a game-high 22 points and Shani Smyth added 19 as the Lancers (13-2) ran away with their Marmonte League opener.
